Shopify holds the customer relationship; Infor M3 runs the operations and records behind the business. The two overlap wherever the same organizations and transactions matter to both, and when that overlap is bridged by re-keying or overnight batch, each side spends the day working from stale data.

Infor M3: REST API (M3 API programs exposed through the Infor ION API gateway). Authentication: OAuth 2.0 via Infor OS / ION API authorization. Shopify: GraphQL Admin API (primary) and REST Admin API (legacy). Authentication: OAuth via a custom Shopify app: admin creates an app in the Shopify Dev Dashboard, enables required API scopes, sets the Stacksync redirect URL, then supplies shop name + Client ID and Client Secret to Stacksync. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Shopify: Setup requires the Shopify administrator to create a custom app in the Shopify Dev Dashboard (no one-click OAuth app). Infor M3: M3 business logic is exposed through M3 API programs (MI programs), which Infor publishes as REST endpoints through the ION API gateway rather than as a single flat resource model. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Infor M3 and Shopify without custom code.
